Lara Cordiano

Supervised Counselling Student

Lara’s approach is collaborative, warm, and deeply non-judgemental. She works with each client to understand their stories and goals, and recognizes that each life is unique and each worldview is nuanced. In order to tailor her work to clients’ specific needs, she draws from a range of therapeutic modalities and employs an integrative approach. In your work together, Lara may draw on techniques from Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Adlerian Psychology, Family Systems Theory, Mindfulness-based and Attachment-focused therapies to address your concerns.

Lara believes that therapy is a conversation where the subject is you. She will take the time to understand where you have been, where you want to go, and will collaborate with you on a plan to get you there. She believes that her role is to support you on your journey, offer guidance, and sometimes suggest new directions or perspectives that can help you lead the life you want to live. She values authenticity, humour, and deep compassion in the therapy room.

As a practicum student in the Master of Psychology program at Adler Graduate Professional School, Lara will use her academic training and hands-on experience in her work with clients. In the past, she has supported kids and teens on Kids Help Phone as a Textline Crisis Responder, and she now works with teens, young adults, and adults navigating challenges such as anxiety, depression, relationship issues, stress management, and emotional regulation.

Lara is currently welcoming new clients for both in-person and virtual sessions. If you would like to work with her, please feel free to send an email, call us, or visit our Contact Page to fill out the form.
